Why does Peuka require identity verification (KYC) for private hosts?

Peuka requires an identity check (KYC) so your parking space becomes visible and bookable online. You verify your identity with Mangopay using an ID document and a selfie – in the app or on the web.

Peuka requires an identity check (KYC) so your parking space can go online: only once the check is successfully completed is it findable and bookable for drivers, and you can earn revenue from it. You complete the check with our payment service provider Mangopay: you confirm your identity with an ID document and a selfie.

Why does my parking space only become visible after the check?

Peuka regularly checks whether your account is listed as verified with Mangopay. Only then is your parking space published and findable and bookable for drivers. This isn’t just a one-time check when you first list a space: if your account loses its verified status again, Peuka automatically removes your parking space from public listings until the check succeeds again.

Can I list a parking space before the check is complete?

Yes. You can list your parking space at any time, even without a completed identity check. It only becomes published and bookable once the check has succeeded.

What do I need before I start the identity check?

Your profile must have the user type “Anbieter / Partner (privat)” selected (on the web, the matching option is called “Vermieter / Partner (privat)”). If it doesn’t, the “Finance” section first shows “Payouts not enabled yet” with the “Become an Offerer” button – that’s a separate step before the actual identity check.

For the check itself, you need a valid ID document and a smartphone with a camera.

How does the identity check work in the app?

  1. Open “Profile” → “Finance”.

  2. Tap “Enable Payout” or, under “Payout Setup”, tap “Verify Identity”.

  3. On the “Identity Verification” screen, tap “Start verification”. You’ll be redirected to our partner Mangopay; the check opens in your browser, outside the Peuka app.

  4. Confirm your identity there with your ID document and a selfie.

  5. Return to the Peuka app afterwards. Your status updates automatically, though it may briefly stay on “In Review”.

How does the identity check work on the web?

  1. Log in at app.peuka.com.

  2. Open “Hosting & finance” in the menu and switch to the “Finance” tab.

  3. In the “Payout setup” section, click “Identity check”, then “Confirm identity”. If you don’t have a host profile yet, the button says “Enable payouts” instead and takes you to profile setup first.

  4. You’ll be redirected to our partner Mangopay.

  5. If you’re on a computer, Mangopay shows you a QR code: scan it with your smartphone and confirm your identity there with your ID document and a selfie. If you open the check directly on your smartphone, there’s no QR code.

  6. Then click “Refresh status” on Peuka.

How long does the identity check take?

In the app, the “In Review” status shows: “Your documents are being reviewed by our partner. This may take up to 24 hours. We will notify you once the review is complete.” This is a standard estimate from the app display, not a guaranteed deadline. Once your identity is confirmed, you’ll receive a notification confirming it.

Which documents do I need for the identity check?

You need a valid ID document plus a selfie. Which exact document is accepted is set by Mangopay for each session. According to Mangopay’s currently published list for Germany, that includes a passport, driving licence, national ID card (other than the paper version) and residence permit – not every version or format is accepted, and the list can change.

Which details does Peuka ask for in my profile?

For your private host profile, Peuka needs your first name, last name, date of birth, nationality, street, postcode, city and country.

Do I also need a bank account for my parking space to be published?

No. A saved bank account is only needed for a payout, not for publishing your parking space. Without a completed identity check, though, you won’t receive a payout either way.

Special cases

Do I have to complete the identity check before I list my first parking space?

Yes. Without a completed identity check, your parking space won’t be published – it’s neither findable nor bookable for drivers, regardless of how many parking spaces or bookings you’ve had so far.

I’m starting the identity check on my computer. Do I still need a smartphone?

Yes. After clicking “Confirm identity” under “Hosting & finance” → “Finance”, Mangopay shows you a QR code. Scan it with your smartphone and confirm your identity there with your ID document and a selfie. Then click “Refresh status” on Peuka.

My verification was rejected. What do I do now?

Start a new check using the “Start verification again” button. A rejected attempt isn’t resumed – a completely new one is started.

My parking space is suddenly no longer bookable, even though I was verified before. Why?

Your account with Mangopay has probably lost its verified status – for example because you updated your name, though other reasons are also possible. Peuka checks your status regularly; if your account loses its verified status, Peuka automatically removes your parking space from public listings until the check succeeds again.

Verify your identity again: in the app, go to “Profile” → “Finance” → “Enable Payout” or “Verify Identity”; on the web, go to “Hosting & finance” → “Finance” → “Identity check” → “Confirm identity”. Peuka shows you the general status “Verify Identity” / “Required for payouts”.

Publication is automatically re-checked roughly every 15 minutes – that’s the check interval, not a guaranteed time from when Mangopay approves your check. Once your identity is confirmed again, your parking space is automatically republished at the next check; you don’t need to relist it manually.
