Peuka also requires an identity check (KYC) for business hosts so your parking space can go online: only once the check is successfully completed is it findable and bookable for drivers, and you can earn revenue from it. The check covers the person who represents your company on Peuka: they confirm their identity with our payment service provider Mangopay using an ID document and a selfie.
Why does our parking space only become visible after the check?
Peuka regularly checks whether your account is listed as verified with Mangopay. Only then is your parking space published and findable and bookable for drivers. This isn’t just a one-time check when you first list a space: if your account loses its verified status again, Peuka automatically removes the parking space from public listings until the check succeeds again. The same condition applies to business hosts as to private ones.
Can we list a parking space before the check is complete?
Yes. You can list your parking space at any time, even without a completed identity check. It only becomes published and bookable once the check has succeeded.
What do we need before we start the identity check?
You need a business host profile. If you don’t have one yet, go to “Profile” → “Finance” in the app, tap “Become an Offerer” and choose the account type “Anbieter / Partner (gewerblich)” (on the web: “Vermieter / Partner (gewerblich)”).
For the check itself, the representative needs a valid ID document and a smartphone with a camera.
Which company details do we need in our profile?
When setting up your business host profile, you can add a “Company Name”. VAT ID and VAT rate only appear if you enable “Subject to sales tax”.
In addition, personal details of the representative are required: first name, last name, date of birth, nationality, street, postcode, city and country.
How does the identity check work on the web?
Log in at app.peuka.com.
Open “Hosting & finance” in the menu and switch to the “Finance” tab.
In the “Payout setup” section, click “Identity check”, then “Confirm identity”. If you don’t have a host profile yet, the button says “Enable payouts” instead and takes you to profile setup first.
You’ll be redirected to our partner Mangopay.
If the representative opens the check on a computer, Mangopay shows a QR code: scan it with their smartphone to confirm the ID document and selfie there. Opened directly on a smartphone, there’s no QR code.
Then click “Refresh status” on Peuka.
How does the identity check work in the app?
Open “Profile” → “Finance”.
Tap “Enable Payout” or, under “Payout Setup”, tap “Verify Identity”.
On the “Identity Verification” screen, the representative taps “Start verification”. They’ll be redirected to our partner Mangopay; the check opens in the browser, outside the Peuka app.
They confirm their identity there with an ID document and a selfie.
Return to the Peuka app afterwards. The status updates automatically, though it may briefly stay on “In Review”.
How long does the identity check take?
In the app, the “In Review” status shows: “Your documents are being reviewed by our partner. This may take up to 24 hours. We will notify you once the review is complete.” This is a standard estimate from the app display, not a guaranteed deadline. Once the identity is confirmed, the representative receives a notification confirming it.
Who is checked?
In the current Peuka KYC process, the representative is checked, not the company as a separate legal entity: Mangopay runs an identity check for them using an ID document and a selfie. The app points this out: “A company is represented by a person.”
Which documents do we need for the identity check?
The representative needs a valid ID document plus a selfie. Which exact document is accepted is set by Mangopay for each session. According to Mangopay’s currently published list for Germany, that includes a passport, driving licence, national ID card (other than the paper version) and residence permit – not every version or format is accepted, and the list can change.
Is the check different from the KYC process for private hosts?
The process is the same as for a private host profile: Mangopay checks the representative’s ID document and selfie. The current Peuka KYC flow doesn’t require additional company documents such as a commercial register extract, trade registration or power of attorney.
Special cases
Do we need to submit additional documents as a company, such as a commercial register extract?
No. The current Peuka KYC flow only requires an ID document and a selfie from the representative.
Is our company itself checked, or only the representative?
Only the representative’s identity is checked. The current flow doesn’t send company data or documents to the check.
We’re starting the identity check on a computer. Do we still need a smartphone?
Yes. After clicking “Confirm identity” under “Hosting & finance” → “Finance”, Mangopay shows a QR code. Scan it with the representative’s smartphone and confirm the identity there with an ID document and a selfie. Then click “Refresh status” on Peuka.
The representative’s verification was rejected. What do we do now?
Start a new check using the “Start verification again” button. A rejected attempt isn’t resumed – a completely new one is started.
Our parking space is suddenly no longer bookable, even though we were verified before. Why?
Your account with Mangopay has probably lost its verified status – for example because the representative’s name changed, though other reasons are also possible. Peuka checks the status regularly; if the account loses its verified status, Peuka automatically removes the parking space from public listings until the check succeeds again.
Verify the identity again in this case: in the app, go to “Profile” → “Finance” → “Enable Payout” or “Verify Identity”; on the web, go to “Hosting & finance” → “Finance” → “Identity check” → “Confirm identity”. Peuka shows the general status “Verify Identity” / “Required for payouts”.
Publication is automatically re-checked roughly every 15 minutes – that’s the check interval, not a guaranteed time from when Mangopay approves the check. Once the identity is confirmed again, the parking space is automatically republished at the next check; you don’t need to relist it manually.
